Abstract
Know your traffic! Benefits of a passive approach to application classification across campus networks
Practical applications of this including accurate detection of P2P file sharing and Bittorent. Content-Based Application Recognition can be deployed on any network of any size and takes traffic-based application recognition to a new level. With support for hundreds of the most common applications and protocols, and a unique deep packet inspection algorithm, CBAR delivers greater accuracy and fewer false positives than other approaches to application recognition. This presentation will describe CBAR in detail and some practical real life use cases from a number of campus networks
